As a patient at the Gabrail Cancer Center, you may be eligible to participate in clinical research trials through one of our many research programs. Clinical trials, also called cancer treatment or research studies, test new treatments or procedures in people with cancer. The aim in conducting clinical reseach is the discovery of new anti-cancer drugs and improved methods of support care. Without clinical research there will be no advances in cancer treatments. Every patient at GCC is treated according to the usual standards of care, but our patients have the unique opportunity of going beyond what is currently standard by being enrolled in clinical trials testing future drugs. Our patients rarely need to travel long distances to access innovative experimental therapies since we have those available.

Critical questions about the effectiveness of new drugs are answered much more rapidly, while patients receive state-of-the-art treatment close to home. We also have clinical trials that involve all aspects of care including prevention, early detection, patient treatment, pain management and continuing care. These clinical trials are available to the patients in our main office, as well as those patients who travel to our satellite location.

If you are eligible for any of the trials in our program, our oncologists will discuss these with you along with other treatment options. Because we believe that patients should have access to as many treatment options as possible, our highly accomplished and board certified oncologists encourage patients to participate in clinical trials when the most appropriate treatment is a trial with a new compound.

Gabrail Cancer Center's Clinical Research Centers carry out clinical studies on behalf of the nation's leading pharmaceutical and biotechnological companies. We are recognized by them as having a reputation for conducting high quality clinical studies.

At Gabrail Cancer Center, we play a crucial role in developing the next generation's health care solutions by testing tomorrow's medicines today.
